TRAINING AND DOCUMENTATION
Following are the major functions of the
Training and Documentation Department.
Training field level functionaries involved in
literacy and CE Projects
Training the functionaries of District Resource
Units (DRUs)
Preparation of training manuals
/
modules in CE
Undertaking the training of Master trainers
(ToTs) to prepare a cadre of trainers at the grass roots level involved in
literacy and CEP
Imparting training through street plays, jatha
and traditional media to create awareness in literacy, health, hygiene etc.
among the beneficiaries.
Acting as repository of preserving, documenting
and disseminating information about the policies and programmes of literacy and
CE.
MATERIALS AND MEDIA
Planning and designing of literacy and CE curriculum
Development of literacy primers, CE books
Developing audio/video materials
Developing specially designed learning material suited to the specific target groups like women, SC, ST etc.
Preparation of awareness materials
Preparing suitable package for radio programmes
Preparing manuals for enhancing reading skills for neo literates.
POST LITERACY & CONTINUING EDUCATION
To cater to the needs and demands of neo-literates and life long learning
Development of CE materials/books suited to neo-literates
Planning and organising special programmes addressing the needs of Women, SC/ST and tribals
Thrust towards organising seminar/workshops related to women empowerment /
Media etc.

POPULATION AND DEVELOPMENT EDUCATION
Through literacy and other developmental programmes, spreading the concepts of population education among the people
Development of awareness books, training manuals, CE books related to population education, nutrition, health and hygiene, AIDS awareness, adolescents issues and gender equity
